Review by Manetco: We used to book all our company travel arrangements "direct" on airline, hotel and car rental sites. But Orbitz is truly the great equilizer. The ability to see rates and fares from many different providers at once is what makes Orbitz stand out as a travel site. Frequent Flier and Hotel rewards are nice if you travel heavily, but at what price for the casual traveler? Unless you are extremely brand loyal to one providor, there are numerous savings opportunities on practically every itinery (compared with always using the same provider).

Staples also has great one-day only deals on their website every Friday, be sure to check them out. Like other office supply companies, Staples can be hot and cold with respect to pricing. Every now and then they have great 99 cent specials, we "forward buy" (stock up) on every item offered when they do, as eventually the items always get used. Of all the office supply reward programs, we like Staples Rewards the best.

Review by Manetco: OK, this one is not rocket science, but we really like Wal-Mart for low prices on electronics. Do your homework, check elsewhere as well, but we frequently find they are very competitively priced. We dislike the fact that they do not allow "in-store pick-up" as a shipping option. Depending on what you are purchasing they sometimes subsidize the shipping rate to where it is negligible, but other times the shipping cost negates any savings on the product. If nothing else, their site is useful for comparison shopping for those of us who prefer not to leave our easy chair when making buying decisions!
